Tesco discontinued the Ashbeck name in late 2024. The replacement product, Tesco British Natural Mineral Water, is sourced from the same Eden Valley spring with a near-identical mineral profile. Chloride has changed from 17 mg/L to 13 mg/L; all other ions are unchanged.

Mineral character

Tesco Ashbeck was a moderately soft water with a clean, balanced profile. Bicarbonate was the highest ion at 166 mg/L, with calcium at 40 mg/L and magnesium at 14 mg/L giving a total hardness of 158 mg/L as CaCO₃. Sulphate (10 mg/L), chloride (17 mg/L), and sodium (6 mg/L) were all low. The profile was very similar to Tesco Elmhurst (Staffordshire) and Lidl Saskia (Lichfield), though from a different source in Cumbria.


Origin and source

Tesco Ashbeck Natural Mineral Still Water was sourced from a spring near Armathwaite in the Eden Valley, Cumbria. The water was bottled by Roxane (a subsidiary of the French company Sources Alma). Tesco Ashbeck held natural mineral water status.
